FARGO (KFGO) — Fargo Police K-9 Uno officially retired Friday. Uno worked his final shift last week, and ownership was officially transferred to his former handler, Fargo Police Sergeant Brad Cernik Friday.
Uno and Sgt. Cernik went to city hall to pay a $1 ownership transfer fee to the city finance director. The payment makes his retirement official, and transfers ownership from the city to the Cernik family. Uno plans to continue to play fetch in the backyard, chew on his bone, and lay around the house.
Uno came to Fargo from France in 2018. He spent 8 years with the department. His replacement, K9 Axel, joined Fargo Police last month.
