I’m Joel de Blonk. Yep, the lowercase de is correct in my last name, it’s not a typo. Growing up I had teachers that would dock me points on my assignments for misspelling my own name! So for all the grammar/punctuation trolls out there, the spelling is correct.

I was voted “most likely to be the next Howard Stern”. In reality, my only claim to fame is living in a van for three years. During vanlife, I traveled to all 50 States (49 States in the van), Nicaragua, the Netherlands, and Western Canada. My purpose to vanlife was to run trails in the mountains and explore as much of this beautiful country as possible. Oh, and I suppose people know me as the crazy guy that ran across my home state of South Dakota…yep ran, on foot, 430 miles. But who was counting the miles!
