Enricque Ballard, 23, (Cass County Jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man was arrested yesterday after allegedly throwing a brick through the window of an SUV and showing a gun to a woman, causing her to fear for her life.
Enricque Ballard, 23, is facing charges of terrorizing and criminal mischief. Fargo Police were called to an apartment at 3502 Interstate Blvd S just after 10:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, the woman who called police told them the incident began after she was giving Ballard a ride from Minneapolis to Fargo and Ballard was using her phone. Ballard reportedly became angry when she asked for the phone back and started deleting apps and contacts.
When the woman took the phone back, Ballard reportedly exit the vehicle and told her to “Watch this” before throwing a brick through the window of her SUV. The woman told officers that Ballard later threatened to destroy property in her apartment. When she asked Ballard why he damaged her property, he allegedly lifted up his shirt to show a gun.
While speaking with officers, Ballard said that while he did throw a rock through the window of the SUV, he did not have, or show the woman a gun, and cannot own guns because he has past felony charges. Officers searched the woman’s apartment and found a gun that was reported stolen in December of last year, Ballard told officers that gun did not belong to him.
Ballard told officers his relationship with the woman is “strained” and she has called the police on him roughly 30 times. He said that he has been trying to get his property back from her for a week, but she calls police on him every time he tries to get close to her.
Ballard was arrested just after 2:00 and taken to the cass county jail.
