EVANSVILLE, Minn. (KFGO) — An Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Jamestown has died as a result of injuries he suffered in a crash on I-94 in Minnesota’s Grant County Sunday.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Koleman Lind, 24, suffered life-threatening injuries after his car collided with another car head-on in a construction zone near Evansville. He later died at a St. Cloud hospital.
Lind was pursuing a Master’s Degree in leadership at the University of Jamestown. He served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the women’s basketball team where he assisted with the varsity team and led the junior-varsity squad. The university says he focused on player growth and culture building.
A 73-year old Woodbury man driving the other vehicle died at the scene of that crash. His passenger, a 63-year-old woman from Woodbury suffered life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle was also involved in that crash after the initial collision, that driver was not hurt.
Traffic was re-routed off of that portion of I-94 while crews worked to clean up that crash.
