MINNESOTA (KFGO) – On “News and Views”, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon spoke generally about those knowingly spreading lies on fraud in elections.
“In Minnesota, it takes 30,000 people to populate all the polling places, that’s who’s doing it. That’s who’s counting the votes,” Simon explained. “It’s not a sinister plot or scheme or deep state. It’s literally your friends and neighbors.”
MyPillow founder and Republican candidate for Minnesota governor Mike Lindell said he’s filing a temporary restraining order against Simon’s office arguing it’s illegally trying to change the scope of his requested recount of the primary election.
The Secretary of State’s office said Lindell would need to pay $825,000 to fund a recount and only the votes for Lindell and winner, Minnesota Speaker of the House Lisa Demuth, would be counted. Lindell claims that’s illegal.
This comes as the Trump Administration seeks to block a lawsuit on mail-in voting. It wants to pause implementing an executive order to create lists of eligible voters ordering the postal service to deliver absentee ballots only to people on them to prevent fraud.
“You’ve got red states, blue states, purple states that use it to different degrees and in different ways, but it’s safe. It’s secure. So secure that the president of the United States routinely votes by mail. If it’s good enough for him, it should be good enough for everyone,” Simon said.
Simon calls mail-in ballots lifelines for those who are disabled or in a nursing home.
