Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan (D-Minn.)
FARGO (KFGO) — Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is endorsing Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan for Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seat.
Warren, on KFGO’s News and Views with Joel Heitkamp, says the Senate needs people like Flanagan who will fight for the citizens they represent.
“One of the reasons I wanted to be out here with Peggy, is because we’re going to have people with a real backbone who will stand up for what’s right and people who won’t give a damn,” Warren said Friday. ”Whether it is a giant international corporation or a giant president of the United States. They’re not going to back down. They’re going to call right is right and wrong is wrong, and be there to fight for the people of their home state and make real change. And that’s Peggy.”
Warren says Flanagan has the experience necessary to fight for consumer’s rights in Washington.
“I’ve known Peggy for over fifteen years, and I see right now in Washington that we need real fighters who’ll make real change. Not the pretend fighters, not the wimps who’ll say, yeah, yeah, but there’s nothing I can do,” Warren said.
