MOORHEAD, MN (KFGO) – Moorhead authorities are investigating after a man’s body was recovered from the Red River early Wednesday morning.
Police and fire department personnel responded to a report of a body in the river near First Avenue North at approximately 12:56 a.m., according to Katie Ettish, Public Safety Communications Coordinator for the City of Moorhead.
Emergency crews quickly recovered the man from the water. He was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office in St. Paul for further evaluation and an autopsy.
Investigators said there are no obvious signs of trauma on the body.
The Moorhead Police Department is currently working to identify the man. Police said the investigation remains active and additional details will be released as they become available.
