FARGO, ND – A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Minneapolis in connection with a fatal shooting in downtown Fargo last summer, authorities said Wednesday.
Jayvon Allen, who has no permanent address, was taken into custody at approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service North Star Task Force.
Allen is a suspect in the ongoing homicide investigation of Azeem Holmes, who was killed in downtown Fargo on Aug. 3, 2025.
Two other people were shot in the August third incident in downtown Fargo. One person was hospitalized in critical condition. The other victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The Fargo Police Department announced it will hold a news conference Thursday at 9 a.m. to provide additional details regarding the arrest and the investigation.
