In 2023, California police officer Nicole Brown claimed she suffered debilitating injuries on the job. However, prosecutors now claim that Brown attended a Stagecoach music festival and visited Disneyland when she was on disability leave. In March 2022, Brown sustained a cut on her forehead while handcuffing a suspect. Days later, she was put on temporary disability leave. She has now been charged with 15 felonies related to workers’ compensation insurance fraud. The 39-year-old collected more than $600,000 in workers’ comp. She faces 22 years in prison if convicted.
