WEST FARGO (KFGO) – A chase through West Fargo ended when police used a PIT maneuver to stop a vehicle that fled a traffic stop Friday night.
Police said around 9 p.m., officers attempted to stop 29-year-old Aaron Charette, from Fargo, and his passenger, 24-year-old Bethany Morin of Moorhead for a traffic violation near Brookwood Lane, but the pair fled.
Officers were able to use a pursuit intervention technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle in the 1700 block of Main Avenue.
Police said Charette is facing multiple charges including fleeing, driving under suspension, reckless driving, possession of a concealed weapon and multiple arrest warrants for felony narcotic charges. Morin faces multiple charges including felony possession of methamphetamine, multiple outstanding felony warrants, and felony possession of a firearm.
Additional charges are possible.
West Fargo Police Department officers have recently conducted PIT maneuver training as another tool to safely end pursuits in order to protect the greater community.
