Name of man who died in crash near Sabin is announced

UPDATE – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has announced the man who died is 78-year-old Dennis Lass of Sabin.

Authorities say another driver, 39-year-old Kyle Schlicht of West Fargo, didn’t stop at a stop sign causing the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

SABIN, Minn. (KFGO) – One man is dead and another is injured following a two-vehicle crash in Clay County on Friday, September 11.

Sheriff’s deputies say crews were dispatched just before 9:00 AM to the intersection of 70th St S and 50th Ave S north of Sabin.

Investigators say one driver was thrown from his vehicle into the ditch and died despite lifesaving efforts. The second driver was conscious and talking with first responders before being taken to an area hospital by Sanford ambulance.

Names have not yet been released pending family notification, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
