INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn (KFGO) – An 85-year-old woman died in a Wednesday night fire at Northernaire Houseboats on Rainy Lake in northern Minnesota.
The woman’s 51-year-old daughter is in critical condition. The Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office says a 12-year-old girl was in stable condition after the fire near International Falls.
The daughter tried to go back inside to rescue her mother.
Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and dehydration.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause. There were initial indications that the fire was accidental.
