MOORHEAD, Minn.- The Moorhead Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that damaged the garages of two homes in the 3400 block of 18th Street South. The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by a police officer on patrol in the neighborhood.
Flames were coming from the outside wall of one home and the heat melted siding on the home next door. Crews were able to keep most of the fire contained to the main home’s garage.
The fire is believed was started around some materials left on the outside of the house.
Battalion Chief Gary Larsen said houses with vinyl siding catch fire quickly and make the fire much larger.
No one was hurt.
