Luann de Lesseps apologized after making an awkward comment about Jennifer Lopez during the premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
During the episode, de Lesseps was comparing herself to Lopez when she referred to the singer and actress as being from the hood. A producer quickly clarified that she appeared to be thinking of Lopez’s famous Jenny From the Block nickname.
De Lesseps immediately recognized the mistake and apologized. She later explained that she had simply forgotten the phrase she was trying to reference in the moment and said the mix-up left her embarrassed.
The reality television personality also made clear that she respects Lopez and did not intend the comment as an insult.
