TAYLOR, N.D. – A 55-year-old Dickinson man was killed Tuesday evening in a motorcycle crash west of Taylor, according to the North Dakota State Patrol.
The man was traveling west on Old Highway 10 on a 1991 Harley-Davidson when the motorcycle left the north side of the roadway.
According to a crash report, the driver re-entered the road and overcorrected, causing the motorcycle to re-enter the north ditch. The Harley-Davidson then tripped and rolled, ejecting the rider.
The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Dickinson, where he later died. Authorities noted he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Weather and road conditions were reported as dry. The driver’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol. The Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Richardton EMS, and the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
