FARGO, N.D. (KFGO-KVRR) — Fargo Mayor Josh Boschee is resigning his state senate seat.
In a social media post, Boschee says he expedited his timeline and submitted his resignation Monday afternoon to be effective Tuesday, August 4. He says he is resigning the seat now since Gov. Kelly Armstrong has called for a special session to deal with Kratom in September.
Boschee says it is important that District 44 has a new senator appointed in time to prepare for and participate in the special session. He was elected mayor in June and took office earlier this month.
Boschee was first elected to the North Dakota House in 2012 representing a section of north Fargo. He was elected to the state senate in 2024.
