MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) – Another candidate has entered the race for Moorhead City Council.
Jim McKinstra has filed his paperwork with the city to seek the seat in Ward 4.
Former Visit Fargo-Moorhead President and former television news anchor Charley Johnson is also running for the seat. McKinstra currently serves on the Minnesota Board on Aging.
He says he will “will bring a voice and an outlook rooted in justice and peace and be a vocal proponent for the most vulnerable in our city.” Ward 4 council member Chuck Hendrickson is not seeking re-election.
The period for candidates to file for office in Moorhead opened last week and closes on July 28 at 5 pm.
