ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KFGO) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s office says around 30 children were riding in a school bus when it crashed on the highway Monday afternoon. Multiple children suffered minor injuries in the crash. The sheriff’s office says the bus driver went into the ditch near a curve and struck a tree just after 3:20 p.m.
The bus was heavily damaged on the front and passenger side. Many of the injuries were small cuts caused by broken glass. The driver was identified as Thomas Hedburg, 72, of Sartell. The sheriff’s office says the cause of the crash is under investigation.
Along with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Richmond-Cold Spring Police and Mayo Ambulance also responded.
