Sep 27 (Field Level Media) – The Boston Bruins named right wing David Pastrnak as the 28th team captain in franchise history, the team announced Sunday.
Pastrnak is a four-time NHL All-Star. During the 2019-20 season, he was tied with Alexander Ovechkin for the NHL lead in goals (48).
Last season, the 12-year veteran led the Bruins in both points (100) and assists (71). He also chipped in 29 goals and posted a +4 plus/minus.
The captain vacancy had been open since Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers in March 2025.
Now, the 30-year-old Pastrnak will officially claim the title as the team’s leader.
