CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – A woman is dead after a crash north of Glyndon, Minnesota.
Clay County deputies responded around 1:45 AM on Friday, September 25 to the 10000 block of 90th Avenue North after receiving a crash notification from a cell phone. A dispatcher could hear someone moaning in the background.
Authorities say the vehicle struck a power pole.
The passenger, a 19-year-old Fosston, Minnesota woman, died at the scene. The driver, a 21-year-old Sisseton, South Dakota man was taken to a Fargo hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say it appears alcohol and speeding contributed to the crash.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office plans to release the names of the people involved in the crash once family is notified.
