JOHANNESBURG, Sept 23 (Reuters) – South Africa’s headline consumer inflation edged up to 4.4% year on year in August from 4.3% in July, data from the statistics agency showed on Wednesday.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected annual inflation of 4.5%.
On a month-on-month basis headline inflation was unchanged in August, compared with 0.2% in July.
