FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fargo Mayor Josh Boschee talked about the City Commission’s confirmation vote on former Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney as Fargo Cass Public Health Officer originally being on the consent agenda on “News and Views”.
He said contracted, non-executive positions have only been on the consent agenda.
“The question of Mayor Mahoney or not is the political question. We as the commission have the opportunity to pull things off the consent agenda and that was the priority for Commissioner [Michelle] Turnberg. She did it. We had the conversation. No one was trying to hide who it was,” Boschee explained.
Boschee added the agenda was put online four days before the vote happened.
“Is this cronyism? Mahoney hired Jenn Faul (as Fargo Cass Public Health Director). Now Jenn Faul hires the mayor without any other discussion. He had just donated, or requested to donate, over $140,000 of donated flood relief money to the new downtown engagement center. Is this payback?” Turnberg asked on KFGO last week.
