BISMARCK (KFGO) – The Bismarck Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Sunday night.
Police say Croix Clooten, 22, died after he was shot at the area of North 35th Street and East Rosser avenue.
Officers were called to the scene just after 11:10 p.m. when they found Clooten inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers began giving first aid until paramedics arrived. Clooten was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators believe the incident was targeted and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
Clooten’s family provided the following statement:
“Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support from our community. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this unimaginable loss.”
