FARGO (KFGO) – The intersection of 15th Street and 32nd Ave. S is set to close Monday as construction continues in Phase 2 of Segment 3 for the ongoing 32nd Avenue South reconstruction project. The short-term closure will last approximately one week.
The closure will allow crews to complete underground utility work at the intersection.
The closure is part of the City of Fargo’s multi-year effort to modernize infrastructure, enhance safety, and improve overall traffic flow through the key corridor. All businesses and properties will remain accessible.
After 15th Street is reopened, the intersection of University Drive and 32nd Ave. will be under a similar short-term closure. Longer duration closures of the two intersections will occur later in Phase 2.
32nd Avenue South between University Drive South east to the Red River remains closed as part of Phase 1.
32nd Avenue between 15th Street and University Drive is closed as part of Phase 2.
The following detours will be in effect:
Eastbound traffic detoured via 35th Avenue South.
Westbound traffic detoured via 27th Avenue South.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street at all times.
Segment 3 is the last segment of the 32nd Ave. reconstruction project, which began in April 2023. The project enhances crucial underground infrastructure and transportation efficiency.
