(KNFL/KFGO) – The FM Redhawks would start the 2026 regular season against the Cleburne Railroaders in Cleburne. Kyle Crigger of the Redhawks would take the mound against Andrew Bellatti of the Railroaders.
In the 2nd inning, Christian Almanza of Cleburne would hit a ground rule double to make it 1-0 Cleburne.
It would remain 1-0 until the top of the 8th inning when Redhawks’ Jesus Lujano would hit a ground rule double of his own to tie the game 1-1. Jake Hjelle would follow that up with an RBI double giving the RedHawks a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Delino DeShields Jr. of Cleburne was given the green light on a 3-0 pitch for a home run to center field to tie the game 2-2.
Neither team would score in the 9th inning taking the game into extra innings.
In the 11th inning, Jairus Richards of the Redhawks would hit an RBI single scoring Jake Hjelle to take a 3-2 lead. Later in the inning, Jairus Richards would steal third base and then score on a throwing error by Cleburne making it 4-2 Redhawks. Cleburne would score one more run in the bottom of the 11th, but the Redhawks would hold on to win 4-3.
