A total of 1,435 couples broke the Guinness World Record for most couples kissing underneath mistletoe during a Saturday event in Washington, D.C. The DowntownDC Business Improvement District organized the record attempt at Anthem Row, surpassing the previous record of 480 couples set in St. Louis, Missouri in 2019. “Breaking a Guinness World Record title is an incredible moment for DowntownDC, but what’s even more meaningful is seeing our community gather and celebrate in the heart of the district,” said DowntownDC President and CEO Gerren Price. The event marked the second year Downtown DC installed the “National Mistletoe” at Anthem Row. Artist My Ly Design created the aerial art installation, which organizers described as transforming “the downtown corridor into a haven of festive romance and joyful connections.” (Story URL)
