A 28-year-old Ontario man faces multiple charges after climbing into the Grand Valley Institution for Women and attacking two inmates Sunday evening. Waterloo Regional Police Service reports the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the facility on Homer Watson Boulevard. The suspect scaled the perimeter fence and entered the prison yard where he allegedly assaulted two female inmates. Both victims sustained minor injuries during the attack. Officers arrested the man at the scene without further incident. He now faces charges including break and enter, mischief, and two counts of assault. The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing. Police have not released the suspect’s identity or provided details about his motive for breaching the women’s correctional facility.
