Maximilian Neuböck has claimed the Guinness World Record for longest time surfing a wave after riding for 8 hours, 5 minutes and 44 seconds without breaks. The Austrian surfer accomplished the feat at RiverWave in Ebenesee, Austria, using a man-made wave created by currents from nearby rivers. During his record attempt, Neuböck even ate soup with a spoon while maintaining his position on the board. His achievement surpasses the previous record held by Panama’s Gary Saavedra, who surfed for 3 hours, 55 minutes and 2 seconds in the Panama Canal. Neuböck concluded his marathon session by directing his board toward the dock and sliding into the water. The permanent artificial wave facility allowed him to maintain continuous surfing without the variables of natural ocean conditions. (Story URL)
