Tom Holland’s Spider-Man contract with Marvel reportedly prevents him from pursuing the James Bond role, according to The Sun. The agreement blocks Holland from taking “any other parts that will overshadow that one,” effectively ruling out the 007 franchise. A source told the publication: “Tom can’t play two superheroes, it just won’t happen.” Holland previously called Bond “the pinnacle of working in our industry” but joins actors like Taron Egerton and Glen Powell who have stepped back from consideration. The search continues for Daniel Craig’s replacement following 2021’s No Time To Die. Denis Villeneuve will direct Bond 26, with Stephen Knight writing the script. Amazon seeks a “fresh face” actor in his late twenties or early thirties. Scott Rose-Marsh, a relatively unknown actor, reportedly screen-tested in June using scenes from GoldenEye and was told: “Don’t impersonate a previous Bond.” (Story URL)
