In celebration of spooky season, Freepik did their research to find the most haunted states in the country.
They gathered data from a variety of sources to identify which ones are home to the most ghost sightings and haunted locations.
They found Wyoming is the most haunted overall, thanks to 13 haunted places and 37.3 ghost sightings reported per 100-thousand people.

- Maine – 4.08 haunted places and 58.03 ghost sightings per 100-thousand people
- Oklahoma – 5.2 haunted places and 48.65 ghost sightings per 100-thousand people
- Kentucky – 8.17 haunted places and 27.77 ghost sightings per 100-thousand people
