KY Man Arrested For Trying To Fake Death To Avoid Child Support
In a startling case out of Kentucky, 39-year-old Jesse E. Kipf has admitted to resorting to extreme measures to dodge his child support responsibilities. His elaborate plan involved fabricating his own death, a scheme that ultimately led to his arrest on charges of identity theft and computer fraud.
Court documents reveal the intricate steps Kipf took to orchestrate his fake demise. Using the Hawaii death registry system in January of 2023, he assumed the identity of a doctor residing in another state. With this false identity, he meticulously crafted a case for his own death, even going as far as certifying it himself as the medical authority. Consequently, he was recorded as deceased across numerous government databases.
This audacious ploy wasn’t merely a matter of avoiding financial obligations. Kipf’s evasion tactics amounted to shirking over $100,000 in child support payments owed to his ex-wife. The repercussions of his actions extended beyond his family dynamics, causing an estimated $195,000 in damages to both personal relationships and the computer networks he exploited.
Despite his efforts to escape accountability, Kipf’s deceit came to light later that year, leading to his indictment in November of 2023. The consequences of his actions serve as a sobering reminder of the lengths some may go to evade their responsibilities, ultimately leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
