WEST FARGO (KFGO) – West Fargo Schools will have a new School Resource Officer and comfort dog team this fall.
K-9 Labby joins SRO Dora Roll to mainly serve southside schools, but will rotate through all West Fargo schools when needed.
Labby is a nine-month-old Goldendoodle. She is a trained comfort dog and will become certified in the coming months.
The Police Department said a donation from Labby’s Grill and Bar made the addition possible.
Labby will help SRO Roll build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff while assisting students struggling with mental health, improving morale, and increasing positive interactions throughout the community.
“We have seen firsthand the positive benefits that a comfort dog has had for our residents and students,” Chief Denis Otterness said. “K-9 Labby will enhance our ability to help even more students and community members struggling with mental health or other concerns.”
