EMILY, Minn. – The Emily Police Department in central Minnesota has been temporarily deactivated after its chief was put on administrative leave for allegedly stealing almost $1,000 worth of an herbal extract that can produce opioid and stimulant-like effects.
38-year-old Damien Stalker is accused of taking the extract from a store in February. Stalker said he had a deal with the store to pay them back, but the store manager says there was no such agreement.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office will handle police services for now.
