ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Senate tax bill includes more than $15 million to construct a perimeter fence around U.S. Bank Stadium.
Rep. Steve Drazkowski of Mazeppa was surprised to learn it will be a “temporary” security fence.
“$15 million for a fence; that’s not cheap,” Drazkowski said. “I think I know some people in my district that could build it a lot cheaper and it might even be stronger.”
Tax Committee chair Ann Rest of New Hope said she will ask the Vikings and city of Minneapolis what their specific plans are for the state funding.
