GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota athletic department officials announced the addition of San Diego to the 2024 home football schedule on Wednesday afternoon. With the addition of the Toreros to the 2024 season, the Fighting Hawks have completed their schedules through the 2026 season.
“We are looking forward to hosting San Diego in 2024,” said UND Athletics Director Bill Chaves. “The Toreros have been a perennial FCS playoff team and we know it will be a great matchup for our fans. I would like to thank Chad Karthauser for his efforts working with USD’s administration to make this game happen.”
North Dakota and San Diego will square off on the gridiron for the first time in program history on Sept. 21, 2024. The game gives UND seven home games in the 2024 season. It marks the second time in North Dakota’s Division I history that the Fighting Hawks will host seven teams in a season, with the only previous time being 2013.
The Fighting Hawks will have 12 games on the regular season slate in 2024 and 2025. The only other time in UND’s Division I history that it had a dozen games on its regular season schedule was 2014.
