BUXTON, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has been responding to crashes up and down I-29 today due to the icy conditions, including a semi-truck rollover northbound near Buxton just after 8 a.m.
Lieutenant Troy Hischer was on the scene.
“It was a semi with tandem trailers hauling sheetrock and the driver lost control and rolled. It’s been pretty steady, vehicles in the ditch – definitely hazardous out here,” Hischer said.
Hischer says the Buxton Fire Department and TrailL County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to the crash, in which the driver, 32-year-old Grant Ludwig of Hawley, MN suffered minor injuries. The passengers in the semi, 21-year-old Noah Monson of Fergus Falls and 18-year-old Bryce McDonald of Moorhead were not injured. Ludwig was transferred to Sanford in Fargo for his injuries.
On the Minnesota side, Sgt. Jesse Grabow says more slush and snow is starting to accumulate on the roadways, causing poor driving conditions.
