Some people think of gift cards as the easy way out when it comes to gift giving, but they’re still a popular present most recipients are happy to unwrap. The thing is, not all gift cards are created equal, which may be why so many of them go unused every year, despite them being the most popular type of present for the 16th year in a row.
So if you’re going to give any gift cards out this holiday season, you want to make sure they’re good ones that the recipient will actually use. To help you decide, WalletHub has just come out with their list of the best gift cards for 2022. They compared the 50 most popular gift cards in five categories: popularity, discounts, resale value, how much people like the retailer and shipping fees.
Topping the list is Amazon, which was also the number one gift card last year. Visa and Walmart gift cards come in at number two and three, and it turns out, all of the top five best gift cards remain unchanged from 2021.
