MINNEAPOLIS – A federal grand jury has indicted the founder of a Somali on-line news company in Minneapolis on charges related to the “Feeding Our Future” fraud case.
The indictment comes one month after agents arrested him just before he was going to leave on a flight to Istanbul, Turkey.
Prosecutors allege Mohamed Muse Noor of Blaine, also known as Deeq Darajo, claimed his media group was serving as many as 1,500 children, seven days a week, and submitted fake meal counts and fake invoices in an attempt to cover up the fraud.
Noor pleaded not guilty at his first federal court appearance Friday.
