Borowicz’s first career weekly accolade
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota’s Kacie Borowicz earns this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award, league officials announced Monday. She averaged 26.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.5 spg in a pair of road wins last week.
In the 76-65 victory over Western Illinois, Borowicz led the Fighting Hawks with 33 points, matching her single-game high that she earned against Montana State earlier this season. In addition to her point total, she pulled down five rebounds, dished out four assists and secured a pair of steals.
At St. Thomas, Borowicz was one of three Fighting Hawks to finish in double figures in the 66-55 win. She netted 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, recorded two assists and added a steal to help North Dakota extend its win streak to four games.
In the last four games, Borowicz has averaged 23.0 ppg for a total of 92 points. She currently sits third in the nation for free throw percentage (95.9 percent). She went 14-for-14 from the charity stripe in UND’s two wins last week. She sits as the leader for the Hawks in free-throw percentage with .959 (70-73).
North Dakota returns home to host Oral Roberts at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
