MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Forty-six people face charges in connection with a three-day operation targeting violent crimes and carjackings in south Minneapolis.
The Minnesota State Patrol teamed up with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Minneapolis Police from January 26th through 28th.
Officers and deputies recovered 12 stolen vehicles – and six were occupied at the time. Fifteen firearms were also seized.
The felony arrests included carjacking, auto theft, weapons, and fleeing police charges.
The 405 carjackings in Minneapolis last year was a 301-percent increase from 2019.
