Fifty-one years after a student lost his wallet at an Ontario high school, construction workers found it hidden behind a bathroom wall. Tom Schopf, who was 17 years old in 1974, had the wallet containing his student IDs, driver’s license, social insurance card, family photos, and other personal items. Lorna MacQueen, the school’s caretaker, traced Schopf, now 67, on Facebook. “Initially, I thought it was a prank,” he said, but the contents confirmed it was his long-lost wallet. MacQueen and Schopf believe someone found the wallet, removed the cash, and hid it in the ceiling tiles, where it ended up lodged behind the wall. Schopf said seeing the contents was “a trip down amnesia lane,” including a photo of his childhood home that his mother still lives in. (UPI)
