Police in Adelaide, Australia have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly stealing over $250,000 worth of Lego and toys from department stores. Authorities uncovered a massive haul of 2,500 items, including 1,700 unopened Lego sets, during a raid on the suspect’s home. The stolen goods were apparently intended for online resale. The seized merchandise, which filled three truckloads, represented the largest retail theft bust in the state. Police warn consumers to be wary of suspiciously cheap goods sold online, as this “fuels the crime.” The operation has led to a drop in shop thefts in South Australia, with 2,500 arrests made. Retail crime remains a growing global problem. (Story URL)
