During their show at the Novo in Los Angeles on Saturday night (August 23), Clipse surprised fans by bringing out Kendrick Lamar for the inaugural live performance of their collaboration, “Chains & Whips,” from the hip-hop duo’s long-awaited new album, Let God Sort Em Out, which dropped on July 11. As fan shot videos show, Lamar joined Pusha T and Malice mid-song, delivering a standout verse that energized their collective hometown crowd, who shouted along enthusiastically. “This is our home city, it’s such a privilege to be in front of motherfu**ing legends, man,” Lamar said after finishing the track, before hugging Malice and Pusha T while gesturing to the audience as he added, “I’m going to be out there watching with you all, these are my motherfu**ing people.” Clipse are currently on their first tour since 2009, with West Coast dates continuing through August before heading to the Midwest in early September.
