The average American describes their ideal salary as $74,000, according to a new survey of 2,000 adults. One in five say they’d need six-figure earnings to support their desired lifestyle. Half of respondents feel their current income is insufficient, with 24% unhappy with their pay. If earning more, most would prioritize savings, investments, and debt payments. Many are job-hunting or considering side hustles and small businesses to boost their income, driven by a desire for more control, meaning, and flexibility in their work. Small businesses are also seen as more gratifying to work for compared to larger firms. (Talker Research)
