Decades after the original film’s release, production on the highly-anticipated sequel to the 1998 romantic fantasy film Practical Magic is underway, and two more returning cast members have been revealed. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will reprise their roles as the eccentric, magic-wielding aunts of returning leads Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. Also joining the ensemble are Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod, while Joey King was previously announced. However, Evan Rachel Wood, who portrayed the eldest Owens daughter in the original, revealed on Instagram that she “offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line,” but “was told they are recasting. Practical Magic 2 is slated for theatrical release on September 18, 2026. (Variety)
