The Food Standards Agency in Britain has issued a warning against consuming Jolly Rancher products from the US brand Hershey, deeming them “unsafe to eat.” The agency highlighted the presence of mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) and mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) in these sweets, which can potentially pose health risks. MOAH, in particular, has been linked to DNA damage and an increased cancer risk with prolonged consumption. The affected products include Jolly Rancher Hard Candy, Misfits Gummies, and Berry Gummies. The FSA advised food businesses to halt sales, conduct product withdrawals, and initiate recalls due to non-compliance with UK market regulations. The Hershey Company has taken steps to remove these products from the UK market. (Upi)
