Two individuals, Lashawn Markeith Lamar, 34, and Shaquasia Lachelsea Owens, 29, were arrested in Barbour County for allegedly using a drone to drop backpacks filled with drugs into an Alabama prison. The Alabama Department of Corrections investigators received a tip about a potential trespasser at the Easterling Correction Facility in Clio. Owens was apprehended while driving a suspicious vehicle, and Lamar was later found with two backpacks containing meth, weed, xuboxone, fentanyl, and synthetic cathinones. Both face charges for promoting prison contraband, trespassing, and drug offenses. The investigation is ongoing to determine if they were acting independently or on behalf of a larger drug organization. (Complex)
