Woman Wanted for Homicide Poses as Sister to Dodge Arrest — Sister Also Has a Warrant, Because of Course
When it comes to bad decisions, the Hess sisters are running neck and neck, straight into prison.
Kenda Hess, 39, of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was already wanted for homicide when York City Police pulled her over. Thinking she could outsmart the law, Kenda gave them her sister’s name, Koty Hess, hoping to avoid a trip to jail. There was just one problem: Koty also had a warrant. For felony retail theft.
Police, believing Kenda was Koty, arrested her anyway and booked her into York County Prison under the sister’s name. It wasn’t until Quarryville police took a closer look that they realized the mix-up — and that Kenda had just landed herself two mugshots in one night.
She’s now sitting in York County under her own name and awaiting transfer to Lancaster County Prison on homicide charges related to a fatal drug delivery.
No word yet on how Koty feels about being dragged into this, but if family loyalty has limits, this might be it.
If you’re trying to dodge the law, maybe don’t impersonate someone who’s also on the wanted list. Especially if you share DNA, bad luck, and apparently, a fondness for felonies.
