Retail prices of eggs fell in April, the first decrease since October 2024. However, overall, egg prices still remain high: The average price for a dozen is still 79% higher than the price in April 2024. Professor David L. Ortega predicts prices will fall in May and June, as consumer demand falls after Easter. Additionally, the United States has increased imports of eggs to help combat the effects of bird flu.
