The Washington State Patrol reported two drivers using dummies to illegally drive in carpool lanes over the course of several days. Trooper Rick Johnson said on social media that he pulled over a driver on Tuesday whose passenger was a mannequin wearing a brunette wig, a plaid shirt, and a scarf. “Driver admitted this was only to be able to use the HOV lane…The driver also indicated he has not named his ‘passenger,'” Johnson wrote. He stopped another driver for having a non-human companion in the HOV lane just days later. In Washington state, incorrectly using HOV lanes are subject to a $186-dollar fine, with an extra $200 added for using dummies as passengers. (UPI)
